Job Vaccancy Advertisement for Panel Advocates for FAST-NUCES
The University aims to strengthen its legal operations by engaging dynamic, qualified, and experienced practicing advocates for the University Panel (with no monthly retention fee) to represent the University before various courts/forums for its campuses located at Chiniot-Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Peshawar.
Eligibility Criteria:Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law.
- Enrollment: Enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court or Advocate of the Supreme Court with the relevant Bar Council, holding a valid Advocate High Court or Supreme Court license.
- Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of active practice as an Advocate of the High Court, with experience handling judgments and matters relating to educational institutions, regulatory authorities, local government authorities, service matters, labour, and social security.
- Placement: The place of business of the applicant, as shown on the Bar Council card, will determine the city/campus panel for which the application will be considered.
- Selected Panel Advocates will be paid fees on a case-by-case basis according to the University’s fee schedule. No additional fees, TA/DA, allowances, retainerships, or reimbursements will be paid. Claims for such heads will not be accepted.
- The initial appointment of Panel Advocates will be for one (1) year, which may be extended or modified according to the University’s requirements.
- The University reserves the right to change Panel Advocates over time as required.
- Incomplete or late applications will not be entertained. Original documents must be presented at the time of interview. No travel or daily allowances will be provided for interviews.
- Provide impartial legal consultancy on matters in accordance with relevant law, rules, and judicial precedents to University management.
- Upon allocation of a case, appear regularly and actively pursue the matter, file replies and documentation within prescribed time limits, and conduct all proceedings in court on behalf of the University diligently and without fail.
- Keep University management informed of court proceedings on a day-to-day basis and obtain any required information and documentation from the University to appropriately present the University’s position.
- Provide the University management with copies of court proceedings and relevant documentation.
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on allocated matters and submit copies of decisions after case disposal.
- Safeguard and oversee the University’s legal interests, ensuring all operations remain within the scope of law.
- Act under a legal obligation to protect the University’s interests in all forums and not to compromise those interests in any manner.
- Present cases in line with University management’s instructions and supplied documentation.
- Eligible candidates should submit an application including a CV, copy of CNIC, High Court Enrollment Card issued by the relevant Bar Council, Supreme Court Enrollment Card issued by the Pakistan Bar Council (if applicable), and academic documents up to LLB/LLM.
- Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years of active High Court practice with relevant experience handling the matters described under “Experience.”
