UTS Seminar on Artificial Intelligence

The International Education Office (IEO) at FAST-NUCES recently had the privilege of hosting a seminar by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). The event brought together students, faculty, and international representatives, creating an excellent platform for dialogue on Artificial Intelligence, innovation, and global academic opportunities. It was inspiring to witness insightful discussions between UTS representatives and esteemed professors from the FAST School of Computing, focusing on cutting-edge research, future career pathways, and international collaboration. This seminar reflected IEO's continued commitment to providing students with global exposure and fostering meaningful academic partnerships.

Scholarship Sprint Empowers Students to Explore Global Opportunities

The Scholarship Sprint event was held in FAST NUCES attracting a full house of motivated students eager to learn about fully funded academic opportunities abroad. Mr. Waqar Baig, Head of the International Office at FAST-NUCES, conducted an insightful session, guiding students on available scholarships for Master’s and PhD programs, direct PhD pathways, and international exchange opportunities. The session featured an engaging discussion, addressing key concerns related to application processes, eligibility criteria, and effective strategies for securing international scholarships.

Meeting With Pakistani High Comission and Eastern Site Visit SiriLanka

The FAST-NUCES Head of International Education Office visited Sri Lanka 2024 as part of an official delegation representing Pakistani higher education institutions, The head also held a meeting with the Pakistani High Commissioner for Sri Lanka, Major General (R) Faheem-Ul-Aziz HI (M), along with Deputy High Commissioner Wajid Hassan Hashmi and Press Attaché Adeel Hashmi. The discussion focused on the Sri Lankan education landscape and potential avenues for Sri Lankan students to pursue higher studies in Pakistan. In Mihintale City, the team visited Rajarata University and was warmly welcomed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sanjeewanie Ginigaddara. The visit included productive discussions on future collaborative research initiatives, academic exchange possibilities, and faculty engagement, with a particular focus on strengthening ties with the university’s Computer Science Department.

  • UGRAD Scholarship: Three students participated in a semester-long exchange program in the USA, enhancing their academic and cultural experiences.

  • STEM Sister Exchange Program (AIPS): Three students and faculty members participated in a three-week summer program at the University of Delaware, USA, focused on empowering women in STEM fields.

Global Network
  • Membership in the GE-4 Network: gives students access to exchange programs at top universities worldwide, primarily in engineering and business disciplines.

  • Faculty members: have been nominated to participate in global summer programs such as the UPAEP Global Summer 2025 in Mexico.

Recent Outreach Efforts
  • Strategic Visits: The Rector and Coordinator visited Sri Lanka and Thailand in 2024 to strengthen ties and increase inbound student enrollment.

  • EAIE Conference 2024: FAST NUCES representatives attended the conference in Toulouse, France, to build networks with globally recognized universities.
